COLORADO SPRINGS — If you need to use the bus during winter weather, Mountain Metro wants you to keep a close eye on their schedule.
The buses usually do well in the snow because they are equipped with drop down chains, but if there's a potential for the buses to get stuck and block snow plows, they may have to cancel or delay services.
They transit group said in a situation like that, they try to give as much of a heads up as they can.
"We try to give at least two hours advanced notice to our riders that we are going to be shutting down. To do that, sometimes we have to be a little more conservative," said Director Craig Blewitt.
Mountain Metro said the best way to stay alert is to follow the schedule on its website and social media.
