Juvenile male arrested in a shooting and carjacking case

PUEBLO — Pueblo police are looking for answers after one person was seriously injured during a carjacking and shooting Saturday morning.

At 3:45 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of 2600 Jones Ave. on a report of a shooting and carjacking. When officers arrived on scene, they found a male with two gunshot wounds to the torso. He was quickly transported to the hospital where he is in critical but stable condition.

Pueblo police aired the information on the car that had left the scene and a short time later an officer spotted it going east on Northern Ave.

The officer attempted to stop the car, but the driver fled and a pursuit began. Officers pursued the car to Goodnight Ave. and Argyle Ave.where one of the officers performed a PIT maneuver with her cruiser. the suspect's vehicle was spun out and stopped.

Officers took a juvenile male into custody.

The investigation is ongoing.
