COLORADO SPRINGS — Colorado Springs Police have obtained a warrant for the arrest of a juvenile male on a charge of attempted first-degree murder following an overnight shooting at Cottonwood Creek Park.
According to police, four juvenile females were inside a car at the park after midnight when one of them was shot. The girl was taken to a UCHealth Emergency room nearby on Woodmen Rd where doctors learned she had life-threatening injuries. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Officers were contacted by UCHealth as they were treating the gunshot victim.
Details on what led up to the shooting have not been released, nor the names and ages of those involved as they are juveniles.
