SUMMIT COUNTY — An investigation is underway after a skier was found dead at Breckenridge Ski Resort on Friday,
At approximately 3:47 p.m. the Summit County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a 56-year-old male skier that was found unconscious and not breathing at the bottom of a ski trail. According to the sheriff's office there was no visible sign of trauma.
Authorities said the skier traveling on an ungroomed trail was found covered under snow in a creek bed.
The victim was transported to the Breckenridge Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
The identity of the skier is being withheld until notifications of the next of kin has been made by the Summit County Coroner.
