PUEBLO — Young people in Pueblo are making sure those in need aren't hungry.

The Impact Youth Initiative, a group of Pueblo High School students, has two ongoing food projects right now.

They created a Belly Box at W. City Center Drive, which is a food pantry anyone can donate at anytime.

The group is also giving out hot meals every Friday in January from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Pueblo Arts Alliance building at 410 W City Center Dr. They're also handing out blankets, socks, gloves and more.

"A lot of people in our community are being ignored that there is a need and trying to bridge somehow and sharing some kindness, some generosity," said Cynthia Ramu.

The group is asking for restaurants to donate meals to continue the Friday free lunch program.
