COLORADO SPRINGS — Two Colorado Springs' ice cream shops are having a red-hot summer.
BJ's Velvet Freez and Tasty Freeze have seen good crowds for their soft serve goodies.
BJ's Velvet Freez offers a drive-thru, while Tasty Freeze offers open seating and has live music on Saturday Evenings.
The owner says this is a model that works just as well as it did in the 1950s.
"Being able to walk up, not have to enter into a building and order your food, have a place that's outside to be able to eat and do a little bit of socializing," said owner Kevin Bergsten.
Tasty Freeze plans to stay open this winter and will offer delivery and special menu items.
