COLORADO SPRINGS — Tuesday was the day many hunters across the state were eagerly waiting for.

Dozens of folks lined up at the Colorado Parks and Wildlife office in Colorado Springs to get their hands on some of the 54,000 leftover and re-issued big game hunting licenses.

The leftover licenses went on sale promptly at 9 a.m., but dedicated buyers had been camped out, some waiting for four days.

"Tired. Yeah, so you know being out here for so many days, you know, no showers, just camping in the wilderness except right in front of CPW," said Hunter, Jordan Champion.

Up for grabs this year were licenses for deer, elk, pronghorn, bear, and turkeys.

Those who chose not to camp out at CPW locations could also buy licenses online. Because of the amount of people attempting to buy licenses online, if you weren't at your computer at 9 a.m., you likely were unable to get the licenses you wanted.
