SOUTHERN COLORADO — The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak region is making sure you and your favorite animal are safe due the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Humane Society says that pets cannot be coronavirus carriers and there are no known cases where the virus was spread by pets to humans, or vice versa.
Yet, that doesn't mean you shouldn't be careful around your loved ones.
"Just like with any object, if you pick up an object, and you are infected, there is the potential of passing that on to somebody else if somebody else then touches that object," said Gretchen Pressley, from the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak region.
The Humane Society recommends that owners should keep an eye out on your furry friends at all times, and watch what and who they come in contact with.
