Two large snowstorms hit the mountains over the weekend, dumping several feet through Colorado's high country!

Forecasters with the Colorado Avalanche Information Center warned the avalanche danger was high in a lot of the state’s backcountry through the weekend. As of today, the threat is considerable in most regions. See the <a class="Link" href="https://avalanche.state.co.us/" style="color: rgb(0, 86, 135); text-decoration: none; transition: all 0.4s ease 0s;">avalanche danger map</a> for updated specifics. Even people with a lot of backcountry experience are warned to avoid areas designated in red as having a &#39;high&#39; danger. Snow from earlier in the season has settled in unstable layers. The new snow on top, has a high potential to break loose and slide.
