PUEBLO — Nothing like a cold brew after a long day or week of work, and even more so if it's made in your honor. Well, that's exactly what happened in Pueblo this week as a local brewery is honoring the city's first female fire chief. Shamrock Brewery created a new beer called "Huber's Rye Pale Ale", honoring Barbara Huber, who was named fire chief last year. And guess what? She loves the honor and is a big pale ale fan.
"It is a very cool experience, I was very surprised to get the text message saying they were naming one after me and so throughout this whole experience it is humbling the amount of support I have gotten from people on the floor."
It's tradition for the Shamrock Brewery to make a special beer in honor of first responders every year, but this is the first time it has honored an individual. Well, I say, "Cheers"!.
