OTERO COUNTY — The Otero County Sheriff's Office says all of Highway 50 is closed due to a car fire 3 miles east of La Junta. There are no injuries as a result of the fire.
Multiple fire crews are on scene as the flames have spread into neighboring grasslands.
Please avoid the area and have patience due to backups. It is possible to use 194 to the north as a bypass if heading between Las Animas and La Junta.
