PUEBLO — A group wants to build homes for the homeless in Pueblo.

Sadie Shelter wants to build small, cardboard homes that can protect people's property and provide a warm place to sleep.

Sadie Shelter was inspired by a woman who saw an elderly lady huddled with all of her stuff and without any protection during Hurricane Katrina.

"Like snow and all that. This is built so secure I don't need to worry about any storms because it is going to withstand that, but if I didn't have this it would be a problem," said Tony Abercrombie.

The group's goal is to encourage the city government to provide a piece of land to build a cardboard home community.
