FREMONT COUNTY — There is a rafting rebound happening in Fremont County.

Most outfitters were expecting a big drop in business due to the pandemic, but around the beginning of July they started to see a surge of visitors.

Even the month of August was busy, which is when most outfitters usually see a dip in numbers.

The co-owner of Raft Masters said this season has already surpassed last year's numbers.

"The time of middle of July there was this pent up desire demand to get out of the house, go do something. Get outdoors and kinda get back to a normal life. I think that had a lot to do with it," co-owner of Raft Masters, Dennis Wied said.

Labor Day is usually when rafting season slows down, but most of the outfitters are expecting to be busy past the holiday weekend.
