COLORADO SPRINGS — If you're about to turn 65, or recently did, and you need some help figuring out which Medicare option is best for you, there's a free Medicare enrollment seminarhappening at 2 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center.
Did you know the three months before your 65th birthday, your birthday month, and three months after your birthday are critical enrollment periods for Medicare?
This is just one aspect this seminar will go into and in general, it's meant to help those in the military and retirement community figure out which plan works best for them.
This seminar is in person, and it can accommodate 15 people total. The group behind this seminar, Medicare Mentors, says it wants to provide advocates for these individuals to help guide them through the different medicare options available to them.
"We want them to understand the basics, and then how to optimize their health benefits, because everybody has a different situation," explained Nick Palarino, a licensed insurance broker with Medicare Mentors. "And we want to take them through that process and answer any questions they may have."
For instance, different medicare benefits can include gym memberships, transportation plans, and routine exams for those who qualify.
Medicare Mentors is a group of licensed insurance brokers who can explain how medicare works with TRICARE For Life CHAMPVA, and the VA Healthcare System.
The group is hoping to create a monthly schedule with these kinds of seminars, and they are also available to meet virtually or one-on-one depending on whichever is most comfortable for people seeking their guidance.
If you would like to RSVP for this free seminar, you can call Mt. Carmel at 719-377-9807. If you would like to contact Medicare Mentors, you can email them at: medicarementorsllc@gmail.com
