CRIPPLE CREEK — The City of Cripple Creek announced Thursday morning that the Fourth of July fireworks show has been postponed until Saturday.

When asked for a reason why it was pushed back at such late notice, we were told it was due to "unforeseen circumstances." The city's Facebook page said the delay was due to "complications with getting fireworks"

The city said it is still having beer, food and live music all day from noon until 10 p.m.

In a Facebook post, the city apologized for the sudden delay, "We severely apologize for the inconvenience and to all those who traveled to see our fireworks today. We hope you can stick around to be with us this weekend for an amazing fireworks show."

According to the city, events will run on their normal schedule Saturday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. Fireworks are set to begin at 9:30 p.m.
