FOUNTAIN — A 13-year-old boy has been arrested in connection to a home invasion where the homeowners were held at gunpoint and their vehicle was stolen, according to the Fountain Police Department.

The department said officers responded to a crash in the 600 block of Blossom Field Road Monday, where they were able to piece together it was a stolen vehicle from Colorado Springs earlier that day.

Officers said two suspects fled the crash and broke into a home where they held the homeowners at gunpoint and stole their car. The suspects fled police after they were trying to stop the car, but police said they stopped the pursuit because the speed became a threat to the community.

An investigation led officers to identify one of the suspects as a 13-year-old boy who lives in Security-Widefield. He is facing charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated motor vehicle theft, menacing, and first-degree burglary.

The department said they are anticipating more arrests as the investigation continues.
