FORT CARSON — Fort Carson is taking steps to get service members and DoD members vaccinated against COVID-19.

In accordance with eligibility guidelines, those who want to receive the vaccine will check in at the special events center and then be taken to a screened-off area to receive the vaccine.

"Vaccine is a critical part of our COVID-19 response. Of course, we are still concerned about the things that we've been doing for months on end now, our mask wear, social distancing, and proper hand hygiene, but the vaccine is huge for curbing the risk of spread of this disease," Major Brad Vass said.

Fort Carson wants to remind people that their vaccination center is only for eligible service members and members of the Department of Defense.
