FORT CARSON — On Thursday, Fort Carson Mounted Color Guard conducted 'ready rides' through the Army Family Housing neighborhoods.

The community outreach program on horse back aims help share information with families living on post, as well as provide moral and some cheer to people.

The 'ready' in 'ready rides' stands for respect, expert, athlete, discipline, and youth.

It's a philosophy that commanders are translating into some face time with people of the mountain post.

"It's definitely a pick me up, but it also gives us an opportunity to make sure everyone in the community is current on what's happen," said Lt. Col. Christopher John Moff, the headquarters Battalion Commander.

For those who want more information on the operations happening on Fort Carson, General McFarland holds Facebook lives on Wednesday nights.
