JEFFERSON COUNTY — The Jefferson County D.A. has charged a 20-year-old former camp counselor with one count of Sex Assault of a Child by a person in a Position of Trust after a reported incident at a church day camp in Jefferson County.

Eagle Lake Camp organizers let parents know this week that an 11-year-old camper came forward on July 11th to report being touched by a counselor in a way that made her feel uncomfortable.

Camp leaders immediately reported the claims to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. Following an investigation, deputies took Tolar Mitchell Locke into custody.

He first appeared in court on July 19th where he was advised of the charge filed against him.

Locke's preliminary hearing will be held August 15th.

Eagle Lake operates camps across Colorado, but stresses the fact that Locke was never present at the Eagle Lake Day Camp On Location, Day Camp at Glen Eyrie or any overnight programs.
