PENROSE — Hundreds of people lined up Saturday for a massive food distribution event at My Neighbor's Cupboard in Penrose.
The drive-through event provided fresh produce and other food to families.
At one point, the line stretched for more than a mile.
Organizers said events like this help to make it easier for families to take care of needs other than food.
"It helps alleviate some of the cost and the burden. Everybody's going through tough times right now, everybody's struggling. This is nothing new it's just gotten worse as we've gone on," Director of My Neighbor's Cupboard, Amanda Suddoth.
The event Saturday was for food, but the organization is working on getting pet food and other necessities for a "Mobil Market Outreach." Details for future events are posted on the organization's Facebook page.
