PUEBLO — Flight for Life held a blood drive outside Saint Mary Corwin Medical Center in Pueblo Monday.

The organization needs blood because it is starting to pack its helicopters with it in hopes of better helping patients during emergencies.

"We've definitely put a dent into the system for what we carry in the field. We are fairly frequently using it. We hope all of our blood expires from not being needed but that's unfortunately not the case," said Lead Medic John Gilmore.

If you missed the drive Monday, Saint Mary Corwin said it will be having blood drives every two months to help out Flight for Life.
