COLORADO SPRINGS — On Friday, five local Colorado Springs restaurants provided meals to UCHealth Memorial Central healthcare workers for their hard work and dedication through this tough time with COVID-19.

80 meals was delivered to the hospital on Friday morning, as this donation was part of the Feed the Frontline Heroes Foundation.

Organizers say that all meals were purchased through the foundation, but in the end, the restaurants made the decision to help out.

"I thought it was great<' said Patrick Johnson, one of the organizers. "I liked the concept. I know the restaurants are really struggling right now, and it's not over yet. It's not near over."

Four of the five restaurants who pitched in include Momma Pearl's Cajun Kitchen, Front Range Barbecue, Edelweiss Beer Garden & Eatery, and the Margarita at Pine Creek.

By next week, the group hopes to up their game, and provide over 200 hundred meals at a time.
