CAÑON CITY — A fire in Cañon City is under investigation after damaging a building Tuesday night that housed several businesses, according to the Cañon City Fire Department.
The department said they responded to the fire in the 700 block of South 9th Street around 10 p.m. Crews said a laundromat, business office, barber shop and two "residential occupancies" were heavily involved in the fire.
Firefighters had difficulty responding to the fire due to high winds and "a large number of concealed spaces in the building."
The building was heavily damaged, but there were no injuries reported.
The department said they are investigating the cause of the fire.
