COLORADO SPRINGS — Cheyenne Mountain Zoo's holiday lights event, called "Electric Safari," has been named third best zoo lights display in the United States by USA Today's 10Best.
The event continues through Dec. 23rd, then picks up again Dec. 25 through January 1.
Electric Safari features 50 acres of lights and 85 different light sculptures, as well as the chance to visit Santa Claus.
"Not only do you get the lights display throughout the zoo and the amazing view up here form the side of the mountain, but tons of animal demonstrations going on," said zoo spokesperson Rachel Wright. "You can visit Santa here through the 23rd. It's our 29th year doing this so we've become kind of a Springs tradition, which is also an honor."
The annual event kicks off at 5:30 every night, and wraps up at 8:30. You can save $2 per person if you buy tickets online.
