EL PASO COUNTY — The El Paso County Sheriff's Office has released security video in connection with an inmate who died in custody on Jan. 17.
The Sheriff's Office says Brian Clark, 44, was being held on a count of indecent exposure when he rushed deputies when they tried to switch out a defective safety smock.
Several deputies responded and restrained Clark. He was then put in a chair, where they say he suffered a "major cardiac event."
Deputies, medical staff, and first responders all took life-saving measures but were not able to resuscitate Clark.
Ten deputies who were involved in the incident have all returned to active duty.
