COLORADO SPRINGS — The El Paso County Sheriff's Office has arrested a suspect in connection to a deadly shooting that happened off Highway 105 Thursday afternoon.
35-year-old Jose Alfredo Romero was arrested on Friday and booked into the El Paso County Jail on first degree murder.
El Paso County deputies and Palmer Lake Police Department officers said they responded to the 700 block of Highway 105 around 4:26 p.m. on Thursday where they found a woman who died as a result of a gunshot wound. More information regarding the woman has not been released yet by the sheriff's office.
The sheriff's office, the lead agency in this case, said detectives were on scene for hours taking witness statements along with multiple agencies who helped search for the suspect.
