COLORADO SPRINGS — Colorado Springs Police cited a driver after a crash that injured several pedestrians Thursday evening on Hancock Expressway near Circle Drive and Delta Drive.

Officers were called to the area around 5:15 p.m. after a report that four pedestrians were hit.

CSPD said the driver, identified as Jonathan Chiles, was turning left onto Hancock when the crash happened. They said those in the crosswalk had a "walk" indicator at the time.

Officers say witnesses and others who were nearby stopped to help the victims.

Adults who were hit were taken to Memorial Hospital, where doctors said they suffered serious injuries. Children were taken to Children's Hospital and treated for minor injuries.

Their current conditions are unknown.

Roads in the area were closed until around 7:30 Thursday night.

Chiles was cited for careless driving resulting in injury.
