COLORADO SPRINGS — Colorado Springs Police have filed charges of driving under the influence and vehicular assault against 29-year-old Michael Tucker for Wednesday's serious crash at the intersection of N Academy Blvd and Bijou St.
Investigators say Tucker was heading south on N Academy but he was in the northbound lanes at the time. He collided with a Tesla trying to make a turn and then hit a Mercedes in the intersection.
No one was critically injured. However, all members of a family in one of the cars had to be taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries.
The crash caused the closure of the intersection for several hours as traffic investigators mapped the scene and oversaw the crash cleanup.
