COLORADO SPRINGS — If you want to help spread some Christmas cheer for our elderly neighbors, the folks at ViewPointe Assisted Living, Memory Center, and Independent Living are welcoming you to be a part of their outdoor drive-thru Christmas parade on Wednesday afternoon!

The elderly residents at that center have been quarantined since March, so the center is hosting a Christmas parade to cheer them up with a little bit of holiday spirit.

This Christmas parade kicks off at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon at their location (555 S Rockrimmon Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80919), and anyone is welcome to join in their car. You can decorate your car or wear a holiday costume.

The elderly folks who live there will be joining from their balcony, and the hope is that they'll feel like their community is there for them.

"Christmas is such a happy time," explained Paige Bunkowski, the Activities Director for ViewPointe. "And we need to make their spirits happy and spread some cheer in whatever way we can for them."

Everyone will do five loops around the building in their cars while blasting some classic Christmas tunes.

A similar parade was done on Mother's Day and that had a great turnout of hundreds of people - of course, everyone remained in their cars.

If you'd like to participate, organizers are asking you arrive there by 3 p.m. and meet in their back parking lot - that's where the parade will begin.
