FORT CARSON — Dozens of animals were blessed at a special event Saturday morning at Fort Carson.
The blessing of the animals is part of the Feast Day of Saint Francis Assisi, who is the patron saint of animals.
The event also serves as as reminder of pet services available at the Mountain Post.
"As the veterinary corps and representing the veterinary clinic we're here to bring awareness to the clinic to make sure people know that there is one on base," said Capt. Ashley Kotran.
Blessing were not just for military dogs, pets and farm animals were also blessed.
