Donations for the annual Colorado Gives Day set a record.
$39.6 million dollars was donated in a 12 hour period. Most donations were online.
Now in its 10th year, Colorado Gives Day is the largest statewide day of giving.
Non-profits in the Colorado Springs area said they are excited about the number of people it will help and the fact that donors get to choose where and who the money goes to keeps them accountable.
"At a time when we're trying to attract new donors, trying to attract younger donors, this is another added bonus for us toward the end of the year," said Annie Snead with Pikes Peak United Way.
Most non-profits are still taking donations and there is a tax incentive for donations made before the end of the year.
