The Pueblo School District 70 school district is announcing some changes to their emergency lunch program due to COVID-19, per a release.

For the week of Monday, April 6, 2020, Pueblo School District70 will be serving grab-n-go lunches on Monday and Wednesday only at the following four sites:

Vineland Middle School – 1132 36th Lane, Pueblo, CO 81006
Liberty Point Middle School – 484 S. Maher Dr, Pueblo West, CO 81007
Skyview Middle School – 1047 Camino de Bravo, Pueblo West, CO 81007
Rye High School – 8083 Hwy165, Rye, CO 81069

“We’ve looked at the number of meals we’ve delivered and the locations we’ve serviced, and we are going to consolidate our resources into five regional service hubs,” said District 70 PIO Todd Seip. “We look at many factors in this decision – nutrition staff safety, food quality, student need, and available resources. Based on those criteria, we consolidated our locations to better meet our needs, as well as student needs.”

Any student under the age of 19 will receive two free lunches and breakfasts in each meal bag. Adults can purchase a meal bag for $6.00. Students do not need to be present to pick up meals.

These modifications will allow for the continued delivery of meals to students, while also providing a safe and healthy work environment for our food staff and nutrition workers.
