CSPD identifies man killed in July 3 shooting

COLORADO SPRINGS — The Colorado Springs Police Department said 35-year-old Paul Miller was killed in a shooting last Wednesday night in a neighborhood near S. Academy and Milton E. Proby Parkway.

Police arrested 56-year-old Michael A. Mills shortly after they found Miller with a gunshot wound. They located mills and arrested him inside the home where Miller was found, in the 3400 block of Springnite Drive. Miller died of his injuries at the hospital hours later.

Police say Mills was booked into the El Paso County Jail on suspicion of second degree murder. Miller's death marked the 12th homicide of the year in 2019. At this time last year, there were 15 homicides in the city.
