COLORADO SPRINGS — The Colorado Springs Police Department located a man at a motel who told police he had a gun and hostage in the room Monday morning.
CSPD said a stolen car from Denver was reported yesterday. The owner of the vehicle tracked it to the motel located in the 3200 block of N. Chestnut St.
Officers said they were able to make contact with Marcus Morgan, the suspect, over the phone after they found the car around 5 a.m.
The suspect told officers he had a gun and hostage with him in the room.
CSPD said they were able to negotiate his surrender and the suspect was taken into custody.
Officers said the hostage was safe.
Authorities said they received a search warrant for the room and did not find a gun. They did find a small amount of drugs and were able to recover the stolen vehicle.
