COLORADO SPRINGS — The Colorado Springs Fire Department says a citizen notified it of people masquerading as firefighters, calling homes to ask for donations.
CSFD says at this time neither it, the Colorado Springs Professional Firefighters Association, or The Fire Foundation of Colorado Springs is soliciting money from the public.
Experts say one of the best ways to avoid being a victim is to never give out money personal information after an unexpected request -- whether in the form of a text, phone call, or email.
