ALAMOSA — Fire crews continue to battle The Tobin Fire on Mount Blanca, which is just north of Fort Garland. The Costilla County Sheriff's Office said there are two separate fires burning.

According to their Facebook page, the blaze has burned around 30 to 50 acres. Currently 26 active firefighters, both local and state and one helicopter are fighting the fire.

Firefighters have stopped fighting fire and will remain on scene throughout the night. A helicopter will also remain on scene. Firefighting efforts will continue Wednesday morning.

Additional air support is anticipated in the morning.

The area is just northeast of where the Spring Fire started in late June 2018. That fire burned a total of 108,045 acres, destroyed 140 structures and brought an incredible flash flooding risk to the communities of La Veta and Walsenburg.
