SALIDA — A corrections officer is accused of trying to smuggle a drug-filled burrito into a central Colorado prison.

KUSA-TV reports a corrections investigator acting on a tip from a prisoner approached Trevor Martineau when he arrived to work at the Buena Vista Correctional Facility on July 2.

According to court records, Martineau acknowledged having contraband in his lunchbox, and a search turned up a burrito stuffed with a variety of drugs including methamphetamine and heroin, as well as six small computer thumb drives.

Martineau, who started working in the state’s prison system in August, is being held at the Chaffee County jail on several felony drug charges.

Booking documents do no indicate if he has an attorney who can speak on his behalf.
