PUEBLO COUNTY — A truck driver who died Sunday evening following a rollover crash on I-25 in Pueblo County has been identified.

The Pueblo County Coroner said 64-year-old Miguel Cruz, of El Paso, Texas, was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers said Cruz was driving a Freightliner truck on the interstate just south of Colorado City around 6:30 p.m.

The truck was headed northbound in the right lane when the truck failed to follow a curve and traveled across the northbound lanes toward the left side of the interstate.

CSP said the man overcorrected to the right, rolling the truck onto its left side while in the left lane and continued rolling toward the right guardrail. The man was ejected during the roll, according to troopers.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but CSP says they do not believe excessive speed or alcohol are factors.
