EL PASO COUNTY — There was a big community turn out Saturday at the El Paso County Car Show.

Shield 616 helped organize the event, which was put together to benefit and support El Paso County Sheriff's Deputy, Stephanie Criss, who is fighting Stage 4 colon cancer.

Criss said seeing this much support is overwhelming but not unexpected from this community.

""I'm lucky to live in Colorado Springs, to have the support of this community for law enforcement, for all first responders. Anytime people are going through different challenges people are always very supportive," Criss said.

Criss also said her battle with cancer has reminded her how important it is to be thankful for every day.
