Colorado Springs Police arrest man's son and wife in connection to his murder

COLORADO SPRINGS — Colorado Springs Police announced Monday the arrests of two people in connection to a homicide that occurred on July 22, 2020.

According to CSPD, detectives have been investigating the homicide of Gilbert Sandoval since his body was discovered inside a residence in the 500 block of Custer Ave. on July 22.

The first suspect arrested has been identified as 55-year-old Jean-Joseph Dange Le Chiffre, Sandoval's son. Le Chiffre is also known as Patrick Joseph Sandoval, according to CSPD.

Le Chiffre was arrested last Friday, Aug. 28, for Murder in the First Degree.

The second suspect, identified as Gilbert Sandoval's 77-year-old wife, Marcella Sandoval, turned herself in at the El Paso County Jail on Friday. She was arrested for Accessory.

No further information has been released at this time.
