Colorado Springs police identify homicide victim

COLORADO SPRINGS — Colorado Springs police said a 31-year-old man was killed last Wednesday night on the southeast side of the city.

Police said David Hagen, 31, died after an assault from an "edged weapon" in the 200 block of University Drive, which is near the intersection of S. Academy and Airport. Police have not released any more details about what happened leading up to Hagen's death. However they previously said they have identified everyone involved in the incident and there is no threat to the public.

This homicide was one of two that happened that night in Colorado Springs. Police also investigated a deadly shooting several miles away less than two hours before this incident.

Colorado Springs has seen a total of 12 homicides at this point in 2019. In 2018, there were 15 reported at this time.
