Colorado Springs celebrates one year countdown to Olympics 2020

Today marks exactly one year until the start of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo and Olympic City USA is already gearing up. This morning there will be a big event at Memorial Park at the intersection of Sports Drive and Pike Peak Avenue in Colorado Springs.

The event features fun demonstrations by USA Wrestling, a skateboarding competition, an athlete meet and greet and a chance for kids to try out some Olympic sports. It's free and open to the public. Both the Olympic and Paralympic Committees will be there.

The event starts at 10 a.m. and runs until noon. Please enter the park at Union Blvd. or Hancock. The Farragut entrance will be closed.
