COLORADO SPRINGS — We can bear-ly contained our excitement for the 31st annual Teddy Bear Day at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo!

The zoo's event is August 17 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Kids, ages 3 to 11, who are accompanied by a teddy bear or other stuffed friend, will get into the zoo for just $9.75, a $10 saving! As always, it pays to be a member! There is no charge for members! Children 2 years-old and under get in for just 75 cents!

During Teddy Bear Day, children and their parents can visit the Teddy Bear Clinic, located at Lodge at Moose Lake, for a free stuffed animal "checkup." Each stuffed animal’s overall condition is officially recorded, and they will receive a signed certificate of “Beary Good Health.” Stitches, splints and other “medical” procedures will also be administered to sick and injured plush animals.

The clinic is a great way for kids to familiarize themselves with the health care community and what to expect if they need to visit a doctor, hospital or dentist.

Additional activities for kids at Lodge at Moose Lake, including the opportunity to meet some of the Zoo’s hands-on outreach animals! You can also watch medical-themed animal care demonstrations and keeper talks throughout the day. A fire truck and ambulance will also be on-site for kids to learn about.
