COLORADO SPRINGS — The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo will be closed to the public Thursday due to a gas line repair, which would shut off heat to the buildings.
The gas leak was discovered around 5:30 a.m. within the zoo. Officials said Zoo animals and staff are staff with emergency heat procedures in place.
The zoo said refunds for advance paid ticket holders will happen automatically in a few business days. These funds will be returned to the original form of payment.
Officials are anticipating the zoo to reopen to the public by 9 a.m. Friday.
