COLORADO SPRINGS — Colorado Department of Transportation crews will temporarily close the west Manitou Avenue on-ramp at U.S. 24 for a resurfacing project along U.S. 24.

The overnight work and closures will be through Thursday night, August 8, from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m.

The ramp will be open with normal access each day.

Crews will begin improving nearly 10 miles of U.S. 24 in El Paso County from 8 Street to west of Manitou Springs.

The work consists of milling and paving, extending the turn lane at 21 Street and U.S. 24, replacing guardrail, repairing at least four bridge structures, bridge scour prevention, and improving drainage and adding erosion control.
