COLORADO SPRINGS — Care and Share Food Bank received a generous donation on this year's Colorado Gives Day.
The Safeway Foundation and Hormel teaming up to donate 45,000 dollars and over 2,900 jars of peanut butter to the food bank.
Nicolle Witt from Hormel foods said peanut butter is the most desired food at many distribution centers.
"It's protein, it's shelf stable, so the food banks don't have to worry about finding refrigerated space for it, and it's an item that kids and families love," Witt said.
We found out that's enough peanut butter to make 47,000 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
