CAÑON CITY — The Fremont County Sheriff's office says there is a deadly crash just west of Cañon City on U.S. Highway 50.
This happened at around 10 a.m.
The crash blocked Highway 50 in both directions for about three hours.
The highway is now fully open.
Colorado State Patrol tells News5 only one car was involved.
Seven people were in the car, including four children.
One adult is dead, and three of the children were taken to the hospital.
Emergency units and a medical helicopter responded to the area.
People are being told to avoid this area, which is under investigation.
