CAÑON CITY — It's time again for wine making in Cañon City.

The Winery at Holy Cross Abbey will start collecting grapes from Colorado growers next Tuesday. The winery calls it the Wild Cañon Harvest.

The winery does grow its own grapes, but those grapes only make up a small portion of what they need.

"Last year we took in nearly 25 tons of fruit for the local wine Wild Cañon Harvest and we're looking to see another abundant crop this year," said Larry Oddo, president and CEO, Winery at Holy Cross Abbey. "Things are looking good."

The winery plans getting grapes through September. They make about 9,000 cases of wine each year.
