CANON CITY — Rafting companies in Canon City were keeping busy for the Labor Day weekend.
One outfitter told News 5 that compared to last year, he has seen about a 10 percent increase in folks wanting to get on the Arkansas for the holiday weekend.
"It is just a real pleasant time to raft. Sure we don't have the high flows we may have seen in June but what we have right now are modest and enjoyable flows and the scenery never changes," said outfitter, Andy Neinas.
The rafting season usually ends Labor Day weekend but because of the big snowpack this year, some rafting businesses could be putting folks on the water until the end of the month.
