CANON CITY — Organizers of one of the oldest events in Colorado are having to cancel the festivities for this year.
Organizers tried pushing the Canon City Music and Blossom Festival back to the fall, but that won't happen because of continuing COVID-19 concerns and recent, rising numbers of cases.
Although it was a hard decision, organizers are looking forward to next year.
"Now what we are going to do is use this as some strategic planning time and we are just going to try and plan a bigger and better festival for next year," organizer Greg Dirito said.
One of the plans for next year is to honor the Blossom Festival court form this year.
